MMCA Research Lab

MMCA Research Lab is an online platform for sharing knowledge and information on research of contemporary Korean art. It especially aims to promote a deeper understanding and further research of the development of Korean Art after 1945s until the present day.

This website is structured with sections including ‘Timelines’ which organizes the history of Korean Art chronologically; ‘Features’ which introduces in-depth research findings by identifying new themes every year; ‘Essays’ which introduces various literature related to key topics, artists, and works; and ‘Art Terms’ which is a list of key terminology and names in the field of Korean Art.

In addition, we aim to expand the scope of research themes in Korean Art and its potential and create a platform for discussing approaches and methodologies in research in collaboration with researchers examining multiple aspects of art and culture through these ‘Features.’
