Sajin yesul (Photo art), launched in May 1989, is a leading photographic magazine in South Korea. At the time of its creation, Lee Myeongdong was the publisher and editor and Hong Soon-tae was the editor-in-chief. The magazine was published by Sajinyesul Company. Kim Nyoungman became the publisher in 2001, followed by Lee Kimyung in 2015. The magazine seeks to diversify various photographic genres, including amateur photography, professional photography, and art photography, the convergence of photography and other fields, and to secure the art form’s popularity, professionalism, and information. Each issue consists of news about contests and events, new books on photography, photographers' tours, special issues introducing photographs on specific topics, exhibition reviews, domestic and foreign photographers, camera reviews, photo-related products, exhibitions of the month, and cultural news. In addition to the publication of the magazine, the Lee Myung-dong Photo Award has been selected to support artists and critics since 2000, and the winners include Kim Hee-joong, Koo Bohnchang, Kim Kichan, Kim Atta, Kim Seunggon and Lee Gapchul.
