A group formed in 1968 by Kwak Hoon, Kim Kulim, Kim Tchahsup, Park Heeja, Yu Bukang, Li Jagyong, Cha Myeonghui, Ha Dongchul, and Han Gisu. Most of the membership comprised alumni of the Seoul National University College of Fine Arts, and the goal of Painting 68 was to engage in innovative painting based on the personal styles of the individual artist members. Because of this, the work of participants was characterized by the latest trends of the 1960s, including pop art, op art, and kinetic art. The group debuted with its inaugural exhibition in 1968 at Press Center of Korea, but it disbanded shortly after.
